We invite researchers, particularly young scientists and students, to submit abstracts for the 4th FLASH Workshop, which will be held in Trento, Italy, 1st–3rd July 2026. This Workshop brings together experts in the field of ultra-high dose rate (UHDR) radiation to foster discussions on the mechanistic understanding of the biological response following FLASH irradiation.
Abstract submissions are welcome on the following topics:
FLASH Radiobiological Mechanism - In Vivo and In Vitro Studies
UHDR Radiation Chemistry - Experimental
UHDR Biophysical Modelling and Computational Radiation Chemistry
UHDR Dosimetry
Towards FLASH Biological Treatment Planning
We encourage contributions from students and early-career researchers. Accepted abstracts will be presented during the Workshop and may be considered for plenary sessions and poster presentations.
Submission Instructions:
Please prepare your abstract using the template provided below and submit it in PDF format to flash.workshop@unitn.it.
The submission deadline is 31st March 2026.
During the reviewing process the Scientific Committee will assign your abstract for an Oral Presentation or a Poster.
Your abstract should meet the following criteria:
Language: English.
Presenting Author: The abstract submitter should be listed as the presenting author. The primary author cannot be changed after submission. An individual may be listed as the presenting author on one abstract only.
Contact Details: Please include your official e-mail address as presenting author. Please do not list the e-mail address of the other authors on the abstract.
Coauthors: Please name all authors of the abstract and their affiliations. Ensure that all authors who contributed to the work are included.
Preferred Presentation Type: Oral or Poster.
Topic: Please choose one of the topics listed above.
Title: Max. 200 characters (including spaces). Do not include authors, institutions, city names and trademarks in the title.
Structure: Max. 3000 characters (including spaces). Your abstract should be structured as follows: "Introduction and Purpose", "Material and Methods", "Results" and "Conclusion".
References: You may include up to 5 references.
Images and/or Tables: You may include up to 2 images and/or tables.
By submitting an abstract, you agree that, if your abstract is selected for oral presentation or poster, you present your work in person during the workshop (either as oral presentation or as poster). After the review process, we will send you a separate e-mail about the decision whether your abstract is accepted (for oral presentation or poster) or rejected.
